Do y'all love Lindsay Lohan? She's my favorite ginger. Sorry, RFO. But, she's hot and slutty, while RFO is clammy and really white. I digress. Apparently, my dog Spank Rock and Co. thinks LL is for reals too. Just listen to the track provided below, a not so subtle appreciation of LL's need for panty freedom.

And this leads me to a bigger point, for those of you that ain't heard, Spank Rock is the bomb diggitous and you need to check 'em out. I've been meaning to write about them for some time, but y'all know how I get distracted. Anyway, you need to buy, steal, impound or repo Spank Rock's ""YoYoYoYoYo" - do it. Drawing on the music of their hometown, Baltimore (which is home to the Percolator) SR make something genuinely unlike any record you've heard before. True dat.

Also, please rok the Born Ruffians, "Hedonistic Me" it swings, therefore making it good. On their debut self-titled EP, BR provide songs that sit Indian style in your brain and refuse to get out. Just like LL with no drawers on.

BA

Buenos Aires (BA heretofore) might by the empyrean here on terra fima. Maybe. It certainly is a place with much to offer. One can eat beefy goodness (cows in Patagonia=any cut you can think of is available) on every corner while watching a plethora of lovelies walking hither and thither. And the night life should be called night to day life because the party does not stop until the next day. And then there is the after party. Muy ridiculoso.

If things ended there, it would be more than enough to place BA firmly in the top five best cities I've visited, but there is oh so much more.

If you feel like taking a nice stroll, there are plenty of old streets and architecture to keep you busy for an untold number of afternoons. It really is that amazing. It was especially startling because the city felt much more European - both in people and architecture - than anything else.

Ah yes, the people.Say what you want about any place in the world, but if the people suck, it ain't worth visiting. Of course, this was the antithesis in BA. The people that we know and love are Jorge, Diego and Lorenzo - those three are incredibly crazy mofos that I had the pleasure of imbibing with. Diego Pictured. You get the idea.

Anyway, the tree-lined streets in BA make everything feel snuggly-buggly, despite the hustle bustle of one of the most populated cities in South America. And of course, there are many tourist sites to visit. La Boca, with its painted houses and home of the Boca Juniors, San Telmo, with its many street musicians and vendors, Cafe Tortini and Eva Peron, though her grave was snoozeville compared to some others, as you can see from my photos. The stained glass item from above is just one of many gems.

BA also boasts a giant white phallus in its downtown, good to know the cock is revered everywhere or maybe it's just a nifty statue? To sum, from quaint walking streets, to night life and everything in between, BA has a vibe all its own and well worth a visit.

So with a Latin vibe in mind, let's rok some Los Amigos Invisibles. Y'all need to know. Here's "Una Disco Llena and "Ease Your Mind." Go ahead...ease it.

PS - Congrats to Dale for bringing a new shawrty into the world. May she be as ornery as daddy and as funny as mommy.

I've been a traveling fool since Discovery Inc. showed me the door December 8. I've been to Mexico, Charleston, Ft. Lauderdale, CLEVELAND (See comment section) and Buenos Aires. As soon as VS gets back from BA, I will share my photos and maybe spin a yarn or two, so don't fret.

While in Chicago, I've been busy too. I went to a Bulls game and it was just as boring as on TV. The NBA is dead to me.

I've also seen pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet rok some Beethoven at the Chicago Symphony Center. The building was as beautiful as the music, but that Frenchie can really tickle the ivories to be sure. I also saw the Blue Man Group put on one hell of a show at the Briar Street Theatre. Very fun and entertaining - those that visit Chicago should make it a must see.

But by far the strangest and best thing I've seen lately is the Gyuto Monks, a Tibetan Tantric Choir. Words are my isht, but I'm not sure there are words to describe these fellas. The 12 monks assembled themselves on stage in the flying V formation, nestled in their robes and sitting Indian style on their red oriental rugs. Then one of them cleared his nasal cavity and proceeded to emanate one of the strangest guttural sounds ever emitted by a human. He would go for about 15 seconds, gently lowering his arm, once he reached the bottom, the rest of his buddies joined him in the hypnotic sound. This went on for about 45 minutes. My western ears haven't heard anything like it before or since. I sat and heard Tibetan monks pray. I think I took one more step toward enlightment. Once again, my week beats your year - bitches.

While I try to find an example in newsgroups, here's the antithesis musically. Here's Benny Binassi "Satisfaction" and Sean Paul "Temperature." Say what you want, I love it.
