Well, after my last post, I think it's time I lighten the mood. So, I think I will devote today to things that make me feel good - thanks RFO. Too often we dwell on the negative (for some reason it seems to be easier than dwelling on the positive) and so I am going to make a concerted effort in '06 to make sure I am eating plenty of happiness pie.

I could start with all things artsy-fartsy, from music to photographs and all things created by humans, but instead I am going to talk about smells. Because more often than not, it is a smell that delivers an almost tangible feeling of well-being.

It is fact that smell is most directly related to memory - and how. It's the smell that says you are at grandma's or when you walk in an elementary school - not sight. When I am walking outside, no matter the season, the smell of fabric softener in someones dryer always makes me feel good. And of course, the most almighty smell, the Bar-B-Q. My god that is a slice of heaven. And don't even try to tell me that bacon, sweet delicious swine, is not in your top five.

Then there is the semi-wet woodsy smell of walking amongst the trees that truly is unparalleled. The cold-cock (HA) whiff of scotch, the smell of someone coming in from the cold and mom's turkey in the oven. These are just a few of mine, please share yours...

Another thing that makes me feel good is music, sweet, sweet, music - especially if my friends or myself and my friends create it. So, on that tip, here are absolutely lovely singles - the first is from Steve Wonders a.k.a Vitamin Steve a.k.a Bilbo Steve a.k.a Pickles McBoozy a.k.a Smilsen called "Leche" Prepare to be milked, y'all - and a new hit from P.S. We Love You feat. C$ called "Ting Bu Dongs." My li'l ode to Soupy.

UPDATE: It is amazing the interconnectivity in the world - check this out y'all. I was just emailing someobdy on gmail and this story pops up...

favorite scents... new tennis balls, fresh cut grass, gasoline (love it when I spill a little on my gloves in the winter and I can smell it all day long), a freshly tarred parking lot, grapefruit, sharpie markers, suntan lotion, and whatever chemical the leather workshop next to my office uses on Tuesday afternoons, mmm

balls, leather, gas, lotion....damn beef - you kinky.

Damn, kids...such talent here at elarceny! Big props to the musicians (who?). Very sweet...will likely bring a Soupy tear to her eye.

VS...you're so milky smoothe.

Scents-
childhood: crescent rolls cooking in the oven (mom's kitchen at Thanksgiving), playdough, pb&j sangie and fritos after hours in the lunchbox;

OU: sandalwood incense (and stank-ass patchouli-wearin hippies who think rubbing crystals on the pits will act as a natural deodorant).

Thanks for the mighty composition "Ting Bu Dongs". I will make sure it published in Taiwan for as much as I ting de dong your "Ting Bu Dongs". ^________^

First, Beefer, I cannot agree more about the fresh tennis ball smell, I had no idea you like to stroke the fuzz. You are right Jay, Beef is kinky.

Jules, just wait to the short film and first album are dropped. And just so you know, eLarceny already has a clothing line. Check out elf knob on RFO's Web page. And yes, Fritos, after they have sat in the ziploc for about 13 hours is precious.

Last, Soup-a-doo, you are very welcome. I am glad you likey.

Wierd how things work. After reading this for the first time, no specific scents really came to mind. Then this weekend I was working at the Rock Bottom and was stopped dead in my tracks. Someone there was wearing Hai Karate! aftershave lotion. This is the stuff my grandpa wore and I hadn't smelled it since he passed away about five years ago. It brought back alot of good memories. Add Hai Karate to the list C$.

What about scents as they relate to lovers? The smell of a certain perfume or antiperspirant drives me wild, and all of a sudden I'm back in bed with a bitch I dumped years ago. Can't help it. So if I'm with my old lady I quickly stick my nose in my armpit and then I'm on the rugby pitch with dirty swearing Brits and out of my ex-lover's arms.

HA. I didn't forget, KW, so much as waited for you to add. Excellent point. I love the smell on the pillow and bed of the girly. Glad you have a fool proof system to bring you back as well. Stupid limeys...
