First and foremost, please forgive my neglect in writing this past week. I could blame the tumultuous life and times of a freelance writer, but that really is no excuse. The good part is, in my little break, I have had time to think.
Today I would like to talk about a phenomenon that I have noticed happening with utmost frequency as of late - our collective subconscious bond to things. I know that is a bit obtuse, but this is tough to explain. I will use examples, those always help.
How about right when you park your car and the song you were listening to ends as well? Or how about when you are talking to someone and the TV seems to provide a humorous comment right at a pause in your conversation that leaves you wondering who is listening? I suppose I am referring to the human ability to reach into the nether regions and connect with the world we cannot see, but feel.
Are these intangibles insights into another dimension? Or are these little tidbits provided for us, just as a teaser, letting us all know in a very small but real way that so much more awaits after this life?
That said, let's listen to some tracks off a mix VS made awhile back - The Unicorns "Sea Ghost" and Bright Eyes "Sunrise, Sunset."
Sunrise, Sunset

lay off the weed, dood.
You are a funny one Dr. Bone. I think my inspiration was Harry Potter...
I know what you mean C$. Just last week I got picked up for masturbating in public and the arresting officer was a total dick. I had to chuckle at the coincidence.
Oh Thunder. But was your uncomfortable situation coincidence or irony? Either way, he had egg all over his face, I suppose.
[2] are you sure your inspiration wasn't hermione?
perv.
[4] are you sure that was egg on his face?
yow!!
That's hot... "the human ability to reach into the nether regions and connect with the world we cannot see, but feel".
Like Katie Couric's colonoscopy?
mmmmmm couricoscopy.
Boneoscopy. You think you don't want one, but afterwards all you can think about is your next one.
Were y'all drinking the spiked hot toddies again this weekend? Esteban, I thought we'd covered this subject of you connecting with Eddie's imperceptible nether regions. Way to go...now you've got him all in a tumultuous state, speaking of subconscious bonds and other dimensions.
It's okay, C$...keep telling yourself it was just a bad dream.
[4] It was just coincidence. It would have been irony if he were a beat cop.
Point taken. But you are probably the one doing all the beating today, you know, with your new dew and luxurious skin the ladies are probably swooning.
You're right C$. The ladies go batty over the golden locks, silver tounge, and bronzed skin. My body is the Olympics and my charm is the main event. That's not to say that I'm an ametuer. I'm just grace personified in its purest form. I'm the playa and the game. Hate me if you must.
Will baby thunder be born with a silver tongue in his mouth?
[15] Oops, sorry Thunder...that's presumptious, since it could be a "her".
Back to your point, C$...it's interesting to revel in the strange coincidences in life. Maybe these things are mere chance, or may be we subconciously seek signs. Lots of theories...some say it's the hand of 'God', or it's celestially (or mathematically) explained, or we hold our own destiny through action. I started reading "Tuesdays with Morrie", in lieu of Koppel's farewell last night, and it conjures these thoughts of synchronicity and the role of meaningful coincidence. You should check it (but don't wreck it).
Examples:
The orbits of comets Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp were inevitably going to cross each other at two places. What is not at all likely is that the intersection point would also occur on the same day one year apart.
(tongue in cheek):
It's a bipartisan, extremely polarized issue, but a few weeks ago CEOs from the nation's biggest oil companies faced a grilling in Congress before a joint Senate committee hearing on energy prices. Then the prices went down. Some politicians are now taking credit for the drop due to this hearing...although crude oil prices were known to be "unsustainably high" from the Katrina hike -- Mere probability, action-driven, or is this coincidence? (ha). Trends:

Jules, I think you need to delve back into the c101 archives. I did a nice little review of "Tuesdays with Morrie." Actually, it wasn't nice.
Ahhhh...well after I finish the book (I've only gotten through a couple of chapters), I'll write my own review, so as not to be biased by your opinion...then I'll read what you had to say about it (I usually try not to read a bad review before I've had a chance to form my own opinion on books, movies, music, etc).
Except now I'll read it knowing my friend (whose opinions I value) didn't like it. And now I'm already biased. Thanks, C$. Way to get in my head.
I just quit my job! I rock!
Yeah Thunder! i wish i was in town to celebrate.
[19] Way to keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground, Furbs.
Atta boy, Thunder. I love you.
