Every day, a whole hell of a lot is going on. Isn't that trite? But, lately things seem especially tumultuous. We have yet another hurricane in our midst that will pillage and destroy and America's various stabs at world diplomacy are well, awful. And trust me, it ain't no better at an individual level. Probably much worse for most. Safe to say that our collective grip on all things real is tenuous at best. I think Ogdred Weary would be very proud of this installment or at least mildly nod in my direction.
With that, let's listen to some music. I have two that will inspire or at least make you think a bit. Enjoy and digest y'all. First, here is Kings of Convenience, "Misread" off of Riot on an Empty Street. Second is Sondre Lerche off some compilation I found - name of the track is "You Know So Well."
Misread
You Know So well

Mm...food for thought. Yummy.
I guess our only option at this point is to laugh in the face of our imminent destruction. Can things be changed for the better? Does my vote count? Why do Arabs hate me? Please answer my questions, c101, in no more than 75 words per question. I forgot to take my adult ADHD medication.
[1] There is always something to be done. Its just whether or not it will work. My suggestion, contact Mike Dewine and George Voinovich (these are links) and tell them you do not support Harriet Miers. Or tell them you do, and you like the idea of having your civil liberties eroded to support a Christian ideology
Next, volunteer for the political party of you choice, and help to get local politicians elected. If we can get our crew in the state, they can redraw the district lines, and help get our crew in Congress.
This is what happened in Texas. Tom Delay, funneled money to local politicians, who got elected and then redrew the congressional lines in Texas. Some people claim that this is what helped elect five new republicans to the House in 2004.
Or, just drink a beer, smoke some pot, make love, and eat good food. Did you really think that you would make it this far? I know I did not. And if we had been cave men, we would be elders. ELDERS: F*CK YEAH
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the beginnings of sorrows. For then shall be great tribulations, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
YOU GOD DAMN RIGHT. ICE CUBE TAKE THE MOTHERFUCKIN STAND
We all have metaphorical hurricanes shake up our lives now and again. A nation's (or an individual's) true character shines in the face of adversity. Reality is in the eye of the beholder, and fair is something that comes to town once a year.
Hey Cam-Toby gave us your blog site, interesting stuff.... hope you and Steve Miller are tearing it up in Chicago... watched the sun rise on Lake Michigan yet? :-)
Jeannie
C$,
I took various stabs at your mom last night!
Oh, Thunder, how they just keep rolling. As for eSwede and OpAmp, well, I thoroughly enjoyed your input - as always. OpAmp, you're right, get busy living or get busy dying - just like Andy DuFrane. And Jeanie, thanks for visiting. And yes, while I have been back to Lake Michigan, I still have yet to eat the seaweed. Linwood, whoever you are, I like the cut of your jib. Please keep it coming.
[7] Nice Shawshank Redemption quote. Great flick.
