Our man Evergreen (pictured) knows this mantra (please see title of post) and he makes sure Oh Dae-su knows it all too well - seeing that it appears on a poster in Dae-Su's room/prison for 15 years. Why? Oh Dae-Su doesn't know and neither do you - just one nuance to a film that will have your wheels spinning for days.
The film "Old Boy" begins with one drunken night in Dae-Su's life. Upon his release from the drunk tank he wakes up in a fully furnished room that becomes his prison. A consistent diet of fried dumplings and nightly doses of sleeping gas mark 15 years. And then, finally, he is released onto a bright, sunny rooftop. His mission - to find out who imprisoned him and why.
As for me, I am feeling blue. Not as blue as Dae-Su by the end of the film, but blue nonetheless, which works for this Bobby Vinton ditty, "Blue On Blue". Fellow Bobcats may recognize this sample from my forthcoming disc. First, please enjoy Bobby's version...
Blue on Blue

Aww, don't be blue, atleast you haven't seen the ants yet.
Hey buddy, that's a real nice song. Thanks for that. My only advice would be that you have no reason to be blue because everything that we do, day in and day out, is so completely absurd and random that none of it really matters.
I think that I have finally reached my goal of becoming so meloncholy that it's cliche. I love you more than words.
I would love you no matter what color you were.
[2] I love the fact that becoming so meloncholy that it's cliche was your goal, my lovely BF.
