Warp Speed, Number One!

Look at this freak. The only reason I was remotely interested in his album was because of his fcuked up hair. Seriously, how can you not be curious about what this guy has to say? So I looked into it. This guy is Lightspeed Champion (aka Devonte Hynes) and he used to be the lead singer of the short-lived band the Test Icicles. Remember that band? No? I do. It’s unfortunate but I remember some dumb, dumb isht. They hit the scene right after the Arctic Monkeys. They were compared to the aforementioned band except for the fact that the Arctic Monkeys had some talent. The Test Icicles, however, did not, which would explain why they were eventually laughed off the scene. Now Devonte has reinvented his sound as an English folk-singer doing pure Americana with touches of country and Beach Boys-esque pop licks. His debut, Falling Off The Lavender Bridge, doesn’t blow (much) but I wouldn’t have voluntarily listened to it if he didn’t have a massively freaky comb over.
