I'm Back And I Bring You (More) Ratatat

OK, enough fooling around. I’ve been away awhile. Y’all know the drill. Excuse. Excuse. Apology. Moving on.

One of the very first posts to grace the pages of eLarceny concerned a Brooklyn guitar duo called Ratatat. Ratatat released a stellar self-titled debut (which I knocked for reminding me of Daft Punk’s less then stellar recent works [i.e. everything they’ve done since Homework]).

Anyway. Ratatat scored well enough with me to commit their name to memory. The group’s second album Classics didn’t quite measure up but it wasn’t the only thing the band had been working on. No, it seems the boys in Ratatat like the hip-hop and enjoy remixing songs.

Ratatat’s Remixes Vol. 1 dropped in 2004 after their debut LP and Remixes Vol. 2 will be out this year. Both albums were self released. And like Vol. 1, Vol. 2 will probably only be available at Ratatat shows as if you need another reason to go see a Ratatat show.

Stuff to Sample: From Ratatat’s Remixes Vol. 2 Notorious B.IG. “Party & Bullshit” and from Vol. 1 Kanye West “Get Em High”

How many times do I have to tell you...
Discovery is one of the greatest records ever made. I don't understand why you continually diss it. It was such a step ahead of Homework.

And I don't know how many times I have to tell you. . .
You're music taste is questionable . . . at best.
Discovery is a worthless piece of crap. I should just stop mentioning it but its soooo bad I can't let it go.

Daft Punk, you let me down.
