I'm Smitten

Look at that picture. It just screams poetry reading, soft speaking, acoustic-guitar playing, coffee house denizen. So I'll give you one guess as to what type of music Laura Veirs plays. Well, you might need more then one, it's sort of a mix between folk and lo-fi rock with a tad of blues and electronica. I honestly wanted to lead off with some really un-PC comments about folk music and people who spend too much time in coffee houses but I lost it about half way through the first sentence so I'll just refer to her as a "chick" and move on.

You have to feel bad for Veirs, being the unlucky soul to follow My Morning Jacket's masterpiece, but for all intents and purposes, her new album Year of Meteors was a welcome break to Z (for all of two and half minutes). I can/will/and still might listen to Z non-stop for the next month. How would you like that? Nothing but posts about Z and where Z took me today. Oh no. Man crush? Maybe it's a good thing I won't be able to catch My Morning Jacket on their current tour. Totally smitten.

Stuff to Sample: From Laura Veirs' new album Year of Meteors "Galaxies"and "Secret Someones"

One More Thing: ScottyOpAmp has returned! Go here to hear his latest wisdom. He always has something funny to say about people who take themselves way too seriously.

female singer song writers bore me. i'd much rather read your month long z diary. now can we get back to how excited i get by the last minute of wailing on "wordless chorus"...

I will see My Morning Jacket this Thursday. Maybe I too will be smitten, however I hope not since my old lady will be at said concert as well.
Crap.

[1] Exactly how exited do you get?

[3] i am blushing

Ha ha! I know how you feel. Let's just say I've been knocking things off of tables and counters for three straight days. Time to go to the emergency room.

Thanks for the props! Now all I need to do is make some time to listen to some new music. I have been playing Attacked By Wolves and Kanye West non stop for the last two months. Take it easy.

p.s. Forgive me for being a critic, but have you thought about editting your CSS so that links can show up a little more clearly.

[6] I had no idea people were having trouble seeing the links. I know there is a problem with posting links in the Comments section that is still boggling my mind. I'll try to remember to do something about it.

I have never had a problem with posting links. They appear in the regular font and text so that it is hard to distinguish between the two. That is why I made the one above Bold. I think it is something common to BLOG CMS, cause I have done the same on C101, and it was induistinguishible.

Tarnations...I sure spell good. They learned me well my teachers did.

Laura Veirs - now that's my kinda librarian. she'll shush me for being loud between the stacks.

[9] Oh yeah . . . I'm all about the shushing!
